The one thing I dread about being a woman, is the monthly monster that I have to live with.  It comes on once a month and even before it gets here I live with fear of the day of it coming on.  Sometimes I convince myself that I should get pregnant again just so I can have at least  9 months of no period. 😉

Crazy right, but I almost convinced my husband of the lofty idea…..

But hey, that monster is living with me a least a little while longer and taking up  occupancy inside my body like that little monster which popped out the chest of the characters on the movie Alien.  Sorry for the visual ,but that's how I feel about my little friend.

I don't have to go into the details about what it does to the female body, since if you are reading my post you are more than likely a female and  know what goes on with the monthly little monster. 😉

Anyhow, my monster used to be a nice easy going tenant, that only visited once a month and was pretty easy going. Now since the past couple of years since my last son was born and couple of female issues. My monthly pre menstrual cycle has taken a huge turn and around the block. I used to never have any of the monthly pre menstrual symptoms except bloating, if rarely.  Now I get every thing and in between, from the cramps, the flow, bloating, and so forth.  To add on to it I started to suffer from not even being able to leave the house for the first day, sometimes two. Due to the pain!

That's not all though,  I even started to get really nauseous to the point of puking every single month when my menstrual came on.  If I tried to take pain medication like acetaminophen it would just make it worse and  cause me to puke more. I don't know what it is about certain pain pills now, but I can't take any or I get extremely sick. The only one I take and only if I have too. Is Ibuprofen.

But only if I have no choice and all my other options fail.

Anyhow, my little monster put me on a mission to search out some the best natural ways to deal with PMS.  Natural PMS Relief is real and I have discovered what works for me. I know it won't work for everyone since every woman's body is different and responds well to different things. So I will tell you what has been working for me.

I don't consider myself a person that suffers from severe PMS, but I do consider a lot worse compared with what I was used too deal with. Just a few years back.  Some of the natural remedies for PMS that I have been using are really quite simple.

Here is the breakdown:

  • I drink Red Raspberry Leaf tea
  • I take about a teaspoon a Maca Powder everyday for two weeks before my cycle comes on.
  • Along with my regular 3/4 teaspoon on Fermented cod liver oil everyday
  • I also consume a mixed component of vitamins D, k, mk-7, calcium, phosphorus, zinc in which I get from Dental Essentials
  • I also take the Vitamin Codes B – complex
  • Consume Raw Milk from the farm (Weston Price)
  • I mix up Ultra Greens

Studies have show that women who suffer the most from PMS are are lacking in certain vitamins and minerals in the body.  So, I started to up my mineral game! I try to get most of my nutrients from my food. However, now I started to supplement with whole food vitamins that are soy, gluten, preservative free.  It has made a huge difference on the mood swings I was having along with the pain and nausea feeling.  Its still a work in progress but right now its doable and some months I don't have any symptoms at all.

The maca powder has really been the lifesaver,  because right away I can feel the effects on my body, it helps to balance out the hormones in the body which helps me to feel less pain and not so dizzy.

Just drinking more raw milk and upping my calcium game really smooths it all out.

All I can say is that finding natural ways to deal with PMS is not that hard it just takes a little bit of planning and giving your body what it needs to get through the monster storm 😉

The Tale of Two Fish and Dizziness

This post may contain affiliate links. Please see my Disclosure for more Info.

I have to post this pic of my hubby and his friend Joey. They ended catching a humongous fish the both of them out on the lake the other day.  Not to much has been going on here besides for the fact, that I have been suffering from dizzy spells and some  lightheaded feelings to the point that I had to go to the doctor today.  I almost fainted on  Monday when I was out and about with kids at a home school enrichment center.  It really has been hindering me from doing a lot of things, even staring at the computer screen makes me dizzy sometimes. 😉

Anyhow, I go to get blood work completed in the morning, although I figure it has something to do with my anemia.  I'll let you know how it all goes.  In the meantime, checkout this huge fish.

Too Cute! 😉

The three R’s of environmentalism are reduce, reuse, and recycle. They are important for green families to know and consider in daily life as they often serve as the foundation for green goals and family ideals. All three of them should be considered whenever we take out the trash or buy new products for the home.

Reducing basically means eliminating things you don’t need which makes less garbage. When making purchases it is important to determine if the products you are buying are really necessary. Many times we tend to find that we buy many luxury items along side the necessities. There is nothing wrong with treating yourself occasionally but as a rule simplicity is better. If you do decide to buy, you can still reduce your landfill contribution by electing to buy products that will last for a long time or have another use later on.

Purchasing reusable items that need not be thrown away is another great way to avoid landfill waste, that's why since I am giving away  TheEco Lunch Box Three in one set!  The Eco Lunch box will help you do just that. It will help you to avoid toxic chemicals, reduce the waste, along with help you save money as a family by not continuing to buy sandwich bags which are harmful for the environment.

Cleaning With White Vinegar: It’s Many Uses!

This post may contain affiliate links. Please see my Disclosure for more Info.

Cleaning with VinegarVinegar is the superhero of “green” household cleaning products. You can use it in various ways to keep your house sparkling clean. Using white distilled vinegar as an all-around cleaner is preferable to store bought harsh, toxic chemical blends because it is safe to use.

One reason some people may steer clear of using vinegar is because of the not so pleasant aroma. Well, you don’t have to worry because even though it doesn’t smell too good when you’re using it when it dries there no smell at all!

Cleaning with Vinegar

Windows & Mirrors – Fill a 16 oz. spray bottle with ½ vinegar and ½ water to clean windows and mirrors then wipe down with newspaper for a streak-free shine.

Dishwasher – To help remove the film left over from your dishwasher soap you can fill your rinse dispenser with vinegar and your dishes will come out squeaky clean.

Refrigerator & Counter Tops – Keeping a spray bottle on hand filled with ½ vinegar and ½ water makes it easy to grab to clean the counter tops. Use it to clean out the refrigerator on a regular basis too. You won’t have to worry about using this solution around your food because it is non-toxic and all natural.

Coffee Pot – To keep your coffee pot free from nasty buildup, use a full pot of straight vinegar and run through a normal brew cycle. Then run two regular pots of water through the brew cycle. Do this once a month and your coffee pot will thank you.

Underarm Stains – To get rid of these unsightly stains many people just throw the shirt away but you don’t have to. Use full strength vinegar in a spray bottle to soak the stained areas. Leave in for 15-20 minutes before washing as usual and you should be rid of the underarm stains and any associated odor.

Fabric Softener – You can use vinegar in place of your normal fabric softener in the rinse cycle for the same (or better) effect for a lot less.

Toilet – pour in 1 cup of full strength vinegar, leave it for 10 minutes and clean as usual. Your bowl will be clean and fresh.

Tub/Shower – Use vinegar, the half and half mixture in a spray bottle, to keep your shower clean. Just grab it when you’re done showering and spray down the shower, tub and shower curtain, let it dry and voila! Even when cleaning around babies’ bath toys, you won’t have to worry if any get on them because it’s safe to use.

These are just some of the uses for vinegar to make your home green clean!
