5 Natural Ways I’m Treating ADHD In My Kids.

This post may contain affiliate links. Please see my Disclosure for more Info.

Natural Ways Treat ADHD kidsSo, yes we all know that many kids these days suffer from some form of ADD OR ADHD and its quite well known that many of these kids are stuck in the public school system and many are given many (narcotics) to help them get through the school day. In which for the time being many become zombies or lose a ton of weight from the side effects of just taking the ADHD medications.

It is Neurobehavioral Development Disorder that affects about 3-5% of kids with that number rising each and every year. Many kids diagnosed with Adhd are usually the ones that are inattentive or hyperactive. To the point where it is affecting their learning ability.  (Or so they say).

Many have problems with remembering things and don’t have great control over their impulses. Which can make learning an issue at a young age.

None of my kids, have been diagnosed by a doctor. Per S’e. But I pretty much diagnosed them on my own. Out of my four boys one was diagnosed with Sensory Processing Disorder when he was younger in which he took therapy for it. Now that he is older he has progressed along way and has really come around. However, he has always had issues with Add even though, I switched up his diet when he was younger. Now that he is a teenager, he wants to east more junk. So It forces me to add in some Holistic Adhd supplementation to help him focus just a little.

My youngest son really has an issue with attention, and Hyperactivity no matter how much I take him to the park, keep him active and try to watch his diet. I really do that these issues can be hereditary in some instances since my husband has dealt with it his whole life, and was one of the poster kids for taking Ritalin we he was younger.

No one was perfect, hear and I do the best I can.

So I decided to try out some natural ways to treat adhd in my kids by using supplements that should be healthier and wont cause all those nasty side effects and leave the body in shambles. Of course anything you try, you should always consult with your physician first. .

One products I have been trying the past week is this Solaray Focus For Children  Dietary Supplement for  Adhd.

I have also been using Valerian Super Calm Nerve Support Natural Calm that contains Lemon balm and an herbal blend to help him balance out his nervous system and relax. This product although I don’t give it to him everyday has worked wonders and really helps him focus. However, don’t give too much or the lemon balm which has calming effect can make your child might want to go to sleep. Lol  Great for kids that are a little overly active, and for nights when you need to get some shut eye. -;)

I am also giving them these Nature's Dynamics Omega 3 Berry gummies which are Non-GMO and also have flax seed in them. The omega -3s are good fats that are known to help with proper brain development. They help with DHA & EPA, Omega 3-6-9 all in it.

I am even giving them Mineral rich which is full of vitamins and mineral’s. I’m hoping this will help to balance out his mineral level and lead to better concentration.

So along with trying to feed my youngest one the healthiest way, I’ll try. Since he in the pickiest stage of his life and the hardest of all my boys to please when it comes to food.  I will also look into maybe getting him diagnosed officially and see it there any other underlying issues.

I am hoping these couple of Natural treatments for Adhd will help two of my boys  to really focus just a little bit more.

Tell me what Homeopathic treatments do you use to help your kids with Adhd?

Simple Chicken Fajitas Recipe

This post may contain affiliate links. Please see my Disclosure for more Info.

So you know I have been working out lately and trying to eat as healthy as possible by eating real food. One thing I cooked this week was a Simple Chicken Fajitas Recipe. Its pretty much a homemade Chicken Fajitas Recipe that I like to do on my own. I tend to cook a lot of things from scratch and make them at home since they always taste a whole lot better.

Its pretty simple to make and its one of the meals my family loves to eat, I tend to make it a variety of ways. Sometimes I'll grill the chicken and than slice the chicken tenderloins. I would grill the onions and peppers on my electric grill like the one here.

However, that night I did not have much time.  So I decided to whip up some easy chicken fajitas in my favorite Cast Iron Skillet.

It just makes food taste so much better! -;)

Especially since Cast Iron Skillets help to even out the heat a lot better throughout the food giving it a even cooking time.

Simple Chicken Fajitas Recipe

Some of the ingredients I used were:

  • Chicken tenderloins
  • red, green bell peppers
  • I use homemade bought Tortillas the flour ones.
  • Mexican Cheese ( I use and Organic Blended Brand)
  • Sour Cream
  • onions
  • chili powder
  • cumin
  • organic season salt
  • pepper
  • garlic powder

The first thing I did was cut up my chicken tenderloins into small bite size strips buy cutting them lengthwise down. Than I sauteed the onions and peppers in the skillet  with olive oil until they caramelize to a  nice soft texture. I sprinkle on the seasonings also to the peppers so they can have nice rich flavor to them.

Next, I remove the peppers to a serving plate and than I cook the chicken in the skillet next with the chili powder, cumin, seasonings etc… . I grill them until  they have  nice brown outer covering and are done but not dried out. You want the chicken nice and grilled but not dry.

Next, I transfer the chicken to the serving plate too.

Homemade Chicken Fajitas

I heat the tortillas in the oven for about 3-5 minutes and than I get out the cheese and serve to the kids with a little sour cream. Fast and simple easy chicken fajitas recipe in less than about 30 minutes.

Like I said before This is one my favorite dinners to cook the kids on nights that I't really busy and I don't have to much time to cook without having to resort to getting take out or running to the store.

I Can’t Fit My Clothes Anymore!

This post may contain affiliate links. Please see my Disclosure for more Info.

So lately, I have really been on this kick to get myself into shape all from my home, and lose some pounds that I've gained. I mean I really did not  know I gained some weight, until I got on the scale at the grocery store and it really put things into perspective for me.

It took my son to scream out  loud in front of everyone and tell me my weight . Out loud in the grocery store before I even had a chance to glance at the number. I had gained almost 10 pounds in a period of three months without even blinking an eye. I admit I really like to eat and sometimes I might just eat too much of something even though its good for me. All the while snacking late at night with a heavy sweet-tooth that does not help me either. Since I tend to go for chocolate and ice-cream.

However, It isn't  funny anymore when all my clothes that fit my lower body barely  go pass my outer thigh. I have clothes that I paid a good amount of money for and look great on me and I really don't want to give them away or just buy new stuff.  Just because some clothes don't fit me anymore. When I have some really good items at my disposal!

My hubby has always been into working out over the past 15 years off and on, and I for the most part have never gone this long in my life. Where I have not been as physically active or just in a rut for so long. Maintaining  a healthy weight is really important to me because my mom instilled that in me a young age and I want my kids to have the same example.

According to my BMI Calculator it says that my Composition is in the Healthy range, and I agree. However, it does show that I am really close to the overweight range for my height and weight and age. My body could use some toning and conditioning. I also need to re-build my endurance back up since I have not been physically active, Trust me. The first day I started working out , I couldn't even get through the whole thing and the rest of the day or week shall I say.

It felt as if my knees were giving out on me and doing a thing of their own. Lol! 🙂

I have a couple of goals that is to get down to my optimal weight, lose some inches and gain muscle mass. I really love a fit look and I know incorporating some weight training into my fitness routine will build that fast for me.

Some goals I have been doing is making sure I eat the right healthy foods, lots of lean protein, low carb intake(good ones) Healthy fats, and weight training.

My son and I have started making a goal to walk at least twice a week in the evenings, and I have started doing early morning workouts before the kids wake up in the morning. I love working out in morning, that is when I have the most energy and it really does help to burn those fat stores and turn them into energy.

A couple of things I got to work out with are some 8 pound dumbbells from the brand ignite by Spri like the ones you see in the picture. They have a really great grip and don't have that chemical smell of other cheaper weights. They are really good deluxe rubber dumbbells with stainless steel. I prefer stainless steel. Just my opinion they tend to last longer.  I also got some 2-3 pound ankle weights from Empower and I already have my 10 pound kettle ball for high interval training.

get in shape from home

I am really trying to commit self to getting in shape from the comfort of my home. Without really having to go to the gym all that much.

So investing in small items at home will really pay off in the long run. Plus when you lots of kids like I do. It saves time.

I plan to change up my diet a little bit, but not that much since I already eat pretty healthy,  for example this  past week I combined strawberries with cheese for a nice filling snack midday. Instead of running for the junk food.

See…..

So what sort of things are you doing to get in shape from home without having to go to the gym that much.

I would love to know 🙂

Manuka Honey Hair Products!

This post may contain affiliate links. Please see my Disclosure for more Info.

I have a little secret to tell and its not a good one. Wanna know what it is?

Well I  have not been taking care of my hair like I should have been this past year maybe two. Well almost two.

I have been so busy that it is not even funny. I have been a homeschooling two of my kids this year which will go back to three of them this coming school year. Second I have been working with my husband at his business in which we sell cars as the family business.

Used cars that is.

In fact he needs me to do all the title work until we get to a point where we can pay someone to do it for us. Honestly we can pay someone to do it now for us, but he does not want to pay as of yet. And I am not willing to spend the time training someone as of yet to take over the position.

Since my position handles a lot of the money.

However, that is not even the point of this post right about now, but in fact it really does show why I have been so busy. Between just being a mom, a teacher and working a part-time job. I have really pushed my hair to the back-burner and not really given it any sort of attention whatsoever.

I have been pulling my hair back in bun or two little buns for the longest time, which is not even funny anymore. It is to the point now where I have decided to re-lock my hair and grow my locks out. I have had locks in the past and have been a rocking my natural 4c hair since I was in high-school which was ages ago.

Way before the trend to go natural was hip.

Honestly, I'm not not that patient when it comes to my hair and I am so all about that simple life and all I really want to do is get up and go and not have to worry about my hair each and every single day.

Yea, I'm locking my hair, and If I get bored I'll just take them out or chop them off.

I'm so not that chick when it comes to hair.

So, yes my hair has suffered from severe split ends, very dry and even breakage to a couple of inches from no loving care on my part.

That is why I have decided to spend the next couple of weeks washing my hair weekly and doing  intensive deep conditioning treatments with the Shea moisture manuka honey hair products.  I really didn't want to use this one at first, since many of the Shea moisture Products I love (As A leave In, but not as a intensive deep conditioning treatment.)

Only from my experience in the past with Shea Moisture products not working as well in this regard for me.

So Since I had already bought it and it being on my shelf since for ever. I really need to use it up before I start to lock my hair.

Who wants dry locks.

I don't.

I have to say I  was heavily surprised that this Shea moisture manuka honey hair product lathered on really well and was really quite soft to touch.

As you can see in the picture after I placed the shopping bag on my head to keep the heat in for about 15 minutes to penetrate the strands. I could tell my hair was loving it. My hair soaked it right on up, and felt really good to the touch as I was detangling my hair with the conditioner in it.

It rinsed out really well with cold water and left my hair feeling really hydrated and soft to the touch. I plan on using this product until its gone and I invite you join me weekly  over the next two months as I wash my 4chair  to restore the porosity of my hair.

I know from experience that adding water to my hair weekly can do wonders for 4c hair, it just actually taking the time to take care of it.

What do you say, will you join me in my re-hydrate my hair challenge while using Manuka Honey Hair products?
