Why I love – Alikay Naturals Lemongrass Leave In Conditioner!

So I'll have to be honest, I have not been that great lately when it comes to taking care of my natural 4b/4c hair. I have neglected my hair so much to the point that I am now suffering from tons of breakage and very low porosity hair all over my head. I have good reason though when your a mom with 4 boys and one of the tightest curl patterns on earth.

Sometimes I just don't want to do my hair and a lot of the times I just throw it into a bun, and go. I don't like going to salons since I can never get a sitter and I don't like to many people looking after my kids except me.

I even fell out of love with my hair for a while and almost decided to cut it all off and go back to the TWA that I once had like Amber rose! -;)

However, this past couple of weeks I decided it was time to get serious again and I actually feel like doing my hair again. If you follow my blog you know that i'm not that big on styles. I'm lazy 😉 and easy come easy go is best for me. I actually would like to focus more on length retention and strengthening my hair again. I still use many of same natural products which I will have an updated hair regime coming up soon.

This journey has led me back to a tried and tested favorite, which is Alikay Naturals Lemongrass leave-in conditioner and essential hair growth oil. I have been using this girl's products since the early days of her company when it was being made out of her house. I still consider myself one of the first ones to try her products, I even met her in person at her first hair booth event in Orlando years ago!

Alikay Natural'S products are now found in many stores from target to sally's and even in your local area at many salons.

My two favorites smell great and always leave my hair shiny and stay conditioned.

Among Friends Hand-Crafted Baking Mix!

This post may contain affiliate links. Please see my Disclosure for more Info.

Eating cookies is one those things I don't think no one could ever let pass them by. Just the ooey, gooey goodness of chocolate chip cookies. The crunchiness of those oatmeal raisin nut cookies or the sweetness of some coconut macaroons are all the things that get me excited every single time!

I mean hey, if I could have cookies every day I would.Except for the fact that I'm trying to lose weight and eating the most healthy most additive and preservative-free cookies is always high on my list. Know more so Gmo-free. Really a great tasting gluten free cookie mix.

If I'm not making them myself. 😉

So instead of making them myself, late-night my kids and I decided to make a batch of the Among Friends Handcrafted Baking Mix! The mix is the Oatmeal Chocolate Chip cookie mix which can make up to 30+ cookies in one batch. If you measure it right.  This cookie batch consists of whole oats, premium chocolate, whole grains and did I mention the fact that their all Non-Gmo Verified.

Along with the fact the ingredients are only:

  • Whole oats
  • organic whole wheat pastry flour
  • chocolate chips, cocoa butter, vanilla beans
  • Natural brown sugar
  • Organic cane sugar
  • sea salt
  • baking soda
  • soy lecithin

The only things what you will need to make the cookie mix is one egg + 1 tsp of vanilla extract + 6 tbsp butter or substitute.( coconut oil or whatever you like) 😉

First  we put we poured the mix in a nice medium size bowl.

Next I mixed the softened butter together with the eggs, extract. I whipped it with a blender to make it nice and creamy ( I even a added a lit bit of coconut oil for an added effect of richness.

Third we combined the wet ingredients with the dry ingredients, and blended them all together.

Fourth if you have not already pre-heated oven to 350° than do so. We scooped out those little suckers with a small ice cream scooper onto a cookie sheet with parchment paper.

We baked and then the last step was we ate!

&

I can actually say, everyone in the house loved the cookies! Except my youngest son, but he's really picky and doesn't like much. (Ha, ha!)

The whole batch was gone the first night and they really, really, did taste like cookies that I make on the regular except for the fact I don't have to do the mixing and measuring myself of the dry parts.

Will I purchase this mix again, of course!

Especially for days that we go out of town and I can make cookies in the hotel suite or something. We like to travel and The Among Friends hand crafted baking mixes are sure to be on top of my list. This gluten free flour cookie mix is not only a GMO-free cookie, but tastes really, really good.

What about you, do you sometimes use baking mixes, in a pinch?

Are do you make everything straight from scratch?
