Earnest Eat’s Hot & Fit Cereal!

So I was in Publix yesterday right, just browsing through and this Earnest Eats Hot and Fit cereal caught my eye. I'm not one too much oatmeal, or hot cereals unless I find the time to soak the oats overnight. If I can -;) However, I don't know why it caught my eye but it did. My husband and I are trying to lose weight and I'm trying to make sure he eats breakfast before he leaves the home each morning. He's always in a rush and likes to get the hot cereal like oatmeal from the local Starbucks.

You know if you ever had the oatmeal there they steam it and put it in this little container than give you option to add blueberries some brown sugar, milk , cream or some honey. Whatever floats your boat.

I tend to stick to milk and honey since the fruit is already sweet enough for me eat.  So when I saw this container of Earnest Eats hot and fit Cereal It looked just like the little container that Starbucks uses, and all you have to do is add some boiling water to it or throw it in the microwave if that's what you like. I try to avoid the microwave as much as possible for my food.

Although I do use it time to time.

 earnest eats products where buy

I only bought one from the store since I wanted to give it a taste test to see if its something that he and I would like for busy mornings.  Earnest Eats food is Non-GMO so I know I'm not getting anything bad when I start my duties.  The flavor I had this morning was the American Blend that has cranberries plus almonds plus flax. Did I mention this particular earnest eats food is Vegan approved, wheat free has fiber, oats, quinoa and amaranth.

I added no honey, no sugar, just a tad of milk to make it little creamer. I don't like my hot cereal to chunky but a little more smooth and smushy. It was sweet enough on its on and tested divine.

This stuff really passed my health and taste test! I will be buying more Earnest Eats Food and stocking up on the many different hot cereals since I know it is something my husband will love.

If you wondering where to buy Earnest Eats Products you can do so by clicking here.

They offer a range of products from Earnest Eats bars, Earnest eats hot cereal, and even Earnest Earnest oatmeal.  I love that the food is GMO free and even vegan friendly.

Good stuff!

Do you like to try out different companies food on a whim even though you like what you like?

I'm curious to know.

My Farm Fresh Pick Up!

Well I just wanted to do a quick post and show you guys what I was able to get from my farm fresh pick up this week.  I tend to get a lot of the same items, along with food items that I might get from the farmers market. Today I was able to get a small batch of things. The farm fresh pick up here is only every two weeks, so I try to get items like raw milk, grass fed butter and cheese and soy free eggs if I am able too.

I love getting my fresh milk in the spring because with all the fresh grass it all just tastes so much (butter) better 😉 .  Hmm…mmmm.. good!

Nothing like some good o'l fresh butter on some fresh made muffins! Luv it.

Well the enjoy the video, my mouth is already salivating.!

One Degree Bread: Veganic Ancient Whole Wheat

This post may contain affiliate links. Please see my Disclosure for more Info.

This past week or so I have been trying out One Degree Bread which is their Veganic Ancient Whole Wheat Bread. The bread is sprouted,  gluten free, GMO free, and sweetened with raisins. I love trying out new breads and I ‘m trying to avoid the ones with out all those processed ingredients. I mean really who wants to eat all that crap. Than with a son who who has food intolerance issues trying out new stuff is always on my radar. I bought the bread from a local health food store the same place that I get my shampoo from.  I always get my locally grown organic vegetables from there and my grass fed beef and any other items that they have on sell there, without having to drive cross town to Whole Foods.

The benefits  of sprouted grain go way back all the way to ancient peoples eating sprouted grains, rice,  and bread. Refined grains which is what most people eat,  do not know that the germ and the bran are removed. To help with the preservation of the product to and from different locations. However refined grains lead to obesity, stroke, heart disease and even certain cancers of the GI tract. Refined grains do not break down well and are harmful to the body.

When grains are spouted the nutrition stays and the plant enzymes stay in tact . This helps with cleansing  of the colon, building healthy bacteria in the gut and overall it breakdowns slow in the body without causing a spike in blood sugar. Sprouted grains are high in protein  and  antioxidants. They also contain a plethora of  Vitamin A, C, phosphorous, potassium and Iron.

Who doesn't want  that, I know I can always use an extra dose of iron. …..

My little one deals with constipation if he is not eating clean on a constant basis. A lot the of times I just don't give  him bread unless it is  something I feel he will do well with. So I made him a turkey and cheese sandwich made with the One Degree Bread. He loved it! He only had half a sandwich but it was great! The bread was hearty, tasteful, with plenty of flavor. Most of all it was soft!

Let's be honest sometimes if you make your own, something I will be venturing into soon.Or if you try to buy brands with other healthful qualities they can be sort of hard, and just too thick.

Yuck..

So as you can see, it has a ton of great benefits. Sprouted is not the only type of bread I am experimenting with. I working on some soaked breads and sourdoughs too. But that's for a later post.

I like the Organic One Degree Breads so far and will continue to try more in the future!
