Having fun and relaxing is something that I have always loved to do ever since I was a little girl. I remember being a little girl and not really being that much of a girly girl. I did find myself loving natural things and how they interacted on the body. From making my own handmade beauty products like facial masks out of oatmeal and honey, to revitalizing hair concoctions out of egg and mayo.
When I was little girl these ordeals were a little messy, I always had fun doing them and experimenting just to see the end results. My family and younger cousins were always wanting some sort of new at home spa treatment for themselves.
I did a pretty good job if could say so myself. (Whipped right out my own kitchen)
Reminiscing on some of these old thoughts had me thinking how you would be able to re-create your own at home spa feel. By learning how to decorate your own bathroom or even your room for that spa experience.
When I was younger I did not have all these things but I did try my hardest to make the surroundings as relaxing as possible.
Here are some my tips to help you re-create certain elements of an at home spa:
First You need to start with a pristine bathroom. Clear away clutter and make room of relaxation. It is impossible to relax in the midst of excess.
Purchase the necessary spa products required for ultimate relaxation. Select a small water-proof inflatable pillow and a body puff. Splurge on thick, indulgent towels.
Emphasize purity by only using natural, organic bath and body products. Surround yourself in all natural products and heavenly scents. Scents are known to enhance the effect of an at home spa allowing your body and mind to relax more.
Remember It’s all about setting the scene, allowing the mind the chance to escape.
Choose organic, all natural scents that match the season or your mood. Change the scents frequently to refresh the impact. As said before all scents trigger different effects, lavender, and frankincense are good choices.
Add calming music by piping in instrumental music or by purchasing a small CD player for the bathroom. Have a small selection of music that relaxes you and enhances the atmosphere once again. I for one am a big fan of Asian spa music, something about the chords is amazing. Relaxing orient is one of my favorites.
Make your own sachet bags by purchasing small organza bags from the wedding aisle at craft stores and filling them with dried flowers, soap slivers, herbs and botanicals or cotton balls infused with aromatherapy oils. Tuck the handmade sachet bags in drawers, in closets and in nooks and crannies around the bathroom for a long-lasting fragrance.
Scent the steaming bath water with an infusion of organic bath oils, sea salts and dried flowers. Let it seep for several minutes before lounging in the perfumed water.
Surround the space around the tub with a selection of all-natural candles. Light several for a relaxing light show, a whisper of scent and a calming glow.

Use natural loofah, sea salts and Shea butter to slough off dead skin from your knees, elbows and feet. Then follow by rinsing thoroughly and massage with all natural butters for silky smooth skin.
Mist yourself frequently with a cool infusion of distilled water and essential oils for a unique, personal aromatherapy that you can take anywhere.
Make your own travel spa by collecting and rinsing out thoroughly the small, travel size bottles and refilling them with organic, all natural shampoo, lotion and body wash. Take a bath puff, an extra candle or two and a plush washcloth for a complete spa experience.
Arrange different size bottles in the corner of the tub to display your bath products. Collect unusually shaped bottles for displaying your organic bath and body supplies.
Practical can still be beautiful.
Cleanse your face with organic skin care products. Rest assured that you are using only the finest eco-friendly and natural products to remove dirt, pollution, oil and impurities from your skin. There should be no chemical residue or excessive drying found with commercial products.
After washing with natural shampoo, drench your hair in an organic deep conditioner and wrap in a towel turban. Soak in the tub while your hair soaks in the nutrients and rinse when you are done. Your hair will feel silky and smooth.
Display organic soaps in alarge glass container or jar on your bathroom counter.
Slather on all natural butters after your long bubble bath has warmed and tendered your skin. It will absorb easily and smoothly, leaving your skin soft and supple.
Create a one-of-a-kind gift basket with organic bath and body supplies or even organic baby supplies. Assemble in a hemp basket using a bamboo knit washcloth and a bath puff as filler.
So there you go, some really cool quick ideas for an at home spa.
