Essio Aromatherapy Shower Kit Review!

Remember how in my last post I talked about the benefits of Essential Oils,  and how I love the role they play in the everyday health of beauty and natural living. Well, I was given the chance to review the Essio Shower Aromatherapy Shower Kit Diffuser!

I was totally stoked since just the thought of taking a shower with essential oils dripping down infusing the air with scents of relaxation, was all you had to do to get me hooked.  I was sent the starter kit which comes with the shower Esso Shower Attachment and three pods full of essential oils that would last 3-5 showers each with heavenly scents. You might be thinking just three to five showers a piece, well I don't plan on using it for every shower.  I just use them on those days when I really need to wind down and rest pretty quickly. 😉

Essio Shower Kit

The three pods inside the starter include:

Breathe A refreshing aromatic blend of peppermint and eucalyptus which will help to clear sinuses and decrease congestion. While at the same creating a relaxing element for your senses and body

Passion Gives a Mysterious, exciting complex synergistic mix of orange, lavender, and patchouli. Which creates a sensual aroma.

Unwind – This delightful, restorative blend combo gives an air of citrus and spicy floral tones for an atmosphere of lightness and will promote instant relief.

The only thing I pretty much had to do was open the box, attach it to the shower rod above the showerhead, activate the pod by turning it counterclockwise, and turn on the shower. It was super simple and took less than five minutes to attach and use.

Just so you know, the Essio Shower Aromatherapy kit is free from synthetic additives, fragrances, colors, or preservatives. The essential oils all come from natural plant-based extracts.

It did not leave my shower too oily at all if you're concerned about that I would recommend a shower mat.

I really left my shower all though it was quick during the day, feeling refreshed and uplifted. More so relaxed!

Will I buy this product again,  Yes, I will 😉 I want to explore their other oils and how well they work.

I really think the Essio Shower is something really cool and it really did bring the spa to my home!

A tip though with the UN-used pods, you can place them on your dresser and it will fill up the whole room with great scents.

A Bed And Breakfast: We had a Beautiful Stay!

This post may contain affiliate links. Please see my Disclosure for more Info.

So this month is Family Reunion month so, this past weekend my husband and I took the kids to Folkston, Georgia to a family gathering my grandmother's family organized.  It was a one night overnight stay where I got to see many of my cousins and let my children meet some of their family members.  My Dad's moms family is from Georgia and I was not born there so ever since I was little my mom would take us up there each year so that we would get to know our family members.  I am so grateful that she did that, because I know too many people who parents either got divorced when they were younger and never got to continue to see both parts of their family.

Which is why to this day, I love to teach my kids about where both sides of their parents came from.  The only thing now is that now that I'm older I am taking my kids along with me this time and a husband.

So with that comes #hastaglittlekidproblems.

Where little kids fight , cry and  having four boys  that need their own space does not help either.  So I just chose not to stay at some one homes and but rather book a room at the Inn at Folkston.

bedandbreakfast

The Bed and Breakfast at the Inn of Folkston is a beautiful old world 19th century home, that has – I think about 7 bedrooms. Each room is decorated with its own train theme. The owner of the home is an retired couple who's husband is a second generation retired railroad conductor.  Soon as we got there we felt like we were right at home, I was little nervous at first because I have never stayed at a Bed and Breakfast Before. I'm pretty use to the huge luxury resorts suites that we tend to go too.

The Inn at Folkston helped to ease all those fears, my children loved the place.  The room was so huge and spacious at that. We had two full queen beds in our family room  which were so comfortable and clean! Along with a pull out bed and a large private bathroom. I thought that was pretty cool.

Maybe, that's just me because I thought we were going to have to share a bathroom or something.  Lol! 😉

Since we were only staying for one night, and leaving the next day.  The couple and their granddaughter served us breakfast the next morning and I felt like I was taken back in time to 19th century way of living.

Just a beautiful place and we had a great stay.

I know for sure now that when we do go back up there to visit family we will return back to the bed and Breakfast inn in  Folkson, heck I might even stay at more across the country.

Since we do tend to travel when we can.  😉

How about you, have you ever stayed at a Bed and Breakfast Before?

Sweet Blackberry – Bringing African American Stories to Light!

This post may contain affiliate links. Please see my Disclosure for more Info.

I recently had the chance to come across an awesome kick-starter that is being raised to help the Sweet-blackberry organization to raise money to bring to light some truly remarkable stories about African American people. This whole concept is so cool to me, I remember being a little girl and hearing my grandmother tell me stories about how she grew up and things she learned along the way. I use to love just sitting there and having her pat my body really softly and tell me plenty of stories her history.

Story telling is one thing, I know was huge in the African american households a couple of generations back, since we did not have anyway to document our history, many African Americans would pass down their family legacy through stories, that their parents told them and so forth.

Which is why I totally support what the Sweet Blackberry organization is doing, it is bringing back to light the stories of many African Americans who went on to to do many great things and contributed to the growth of this country as a whole.

Sweet Blackberry is doing what many schools have not done and probably will never do, that is to tell us the many great stories of African American history in America. It sort of reminds me of  Life Upon These Shores by Henry Louis Gates, Jr.  Which are stories of  African American history in America. Which is a  Phenomenal book and I recommend you read it if you get a chance too. However sweet-blackberry breaks it down in puts it into a way that children would receive it very easily.

I'm not too sure if it will be in book format just yet but I do know right now in its beginning stages it is in DVD form.

Karyn Parsons who used to play Hillary on Fresh Prince Of Bel Air is the founder of Sweet Blackberry and I am so glad she is doing something like this. It will help parents and schools to give children a more rounded education into all cultures.

I think it is something totally worth looking into too, if your a parent, homeschooling mom and would love to teach your children about all types of history. 😉

Good Stuff!! 😉

Amys Organic Soup: Pretty Good!

This post may contain affiliate links. Please see my Disclosure for more Info.

OK,  I decided last night that I need to lose a little weight, not a lot. Just a little to get back into some clothes that I am not able to fit anymore. The clothes that I have are nice and I really want to continue wearing them again. So this morning I woke up early and was able to fit in a small dance workout online. Dancing to me is fun, and that is the one thing I continue to stick to when it comes to losing weight and working out.

I ended eating fruit for breakfast this morning with some chicken for my protein. Than after around the mid afternoon I wanted something light and decided to try out Amy's Organic Vegetable soup for a light lunch before dinner later on tonight. Nothing to heavy was what I was going for. Which would not give me a ton of carbs either.

To my surprise this Amy's Organic Chunky Vegetable canned soup was really, quick and easy to make on the stove top! Very tasty I might add. I don't really count calories since I don't believe in them. 😉 But if you do, it has only 60 calories. Not even 4 grams of sugar, 13 carbs. It was a little high on the sodium side, yet it was a quick meal and something I will not eat every single day.

However, it a good option to a quick soup that come out the pantry when you want good ingredients that are all organic and you don't have to slave over the stove. In just about 5 min It was ready to eat. Boom, done!

There are no trans fat, MSG, OR Preservatives, No GMO'S and its Gluten Free! Which is plus around here. I ended up buying more of these for my son, who likes to eat soup in a pinch.

Wholesome Chow: (One Of The Best Gluten Free Products Online!)

This post may contain affiliate links. Please see my Disclosure for more Info.

Ok, well this morning I decided to go on ahead and try out this packet of Wholesome Chow's Organic Gluten Free Scone Baking Mix. I ended up buying this packet awhile back and was in bit of a squeeze this morning and wanted something different to cook for the kiddies. If you do not know my second to youngest son is in the process of getting a series of tests completed to see if he might have any issues with gluten, wheat, and some other issues.

wholesome Chow

That is why I have been experimenting with different types of gluten free recipes that I can do on the fly and in crunch when I don't have to time to make everything from scratch 😉

That is why I love that Abes Market offers a food variety of Wholesome Chows line on their site, makes it easy to shop from.

Its, great because since this gluten free product already comes prepackaged I only have to add three to Four items to complete it.

Wholesome Chow is new company and was started by a couple who shared their love for vegan, gluten free, allergy okay food. A lot of times, I will admit this gluten free journey has been a bit of a learning curve, but fun non the least.

Anyhow, Wholesome Chows products are all Certified Gluten Free and Non-Gmo and Vegan Free. Meaning they are Dairy, Wheat, Egg,  Casein,  Nut, and soy free. Which is great for me because I like simple ingredients in which I can add more to it if I feel the need to.

So lets get started and show you how I made this Wholesome Chow Gluten Free Baking Mix:

First off the ingredients are:

  • Organic White Rice Flour
  • Organic Brown Rice Flour
  • Organic Potato Starch
  • Organic Evaporated Cane Juice ( really gives a great taste)
  • Organic Tapioca Starch
  • Aluminium Free Baking Powder
  • Non-Gmo Corn Starch
  • Xanthan Gum
  • Sea Salt

Step One:  Set oven to 375º and  grease a baking pan or muffin pat. I ended up just using a  sheet pan with parchment Paper

In a large bowl, combine the milk, apple cider vinegar and Oil, ( I used Coconut Oil.)

Wholesome Chow 2

The Product gives you the option to use Dairy or any non-Dairy Substitute. Some people use Almond Milk, I prefer to use Raw Milk from the farm.

Step Two: I mix in  the Coconut Oil, and Apple Cider Vinegar 😉

wholesome chow 3

Step Three: I ended up folding in the blueberries into the mixture and  also added a little bit of extra milk, just a tad.

Wholesome Chow four

The finished result baked at 375º for 18 – 20 minutes was really delicious! I have to say. I ended up melting butter and placing it on top to the blueberry scones.  It was really good, not to sweet just sweet enough. If you like things sweeter I recommend adding some honey to it on top or in the mixture itself.

But it does not need it… Honestly 😉

These scones were good, and I plan on re-buying much more from this wholesome chow company.  I would like to experiment around with using some different form of berries and maybe even chocolate chips added to them.

Yum!

Finally its kid Tested, Mommy Approved!
