I wanted to continue with the next installment of our family trip to Savannah, Ga, and show you some cool things to do in Savannah if you ever decide to visit. Most of my family was here except for my oldest son Ryan, he’s almost 21 and is at that age where he feels that family trips are just not that fun to him.

Although, I feel once he gets a little older he will appreciate these close family outings even though it’s currently pulling at my heartstrings. Those of us who decided to come on the trip were my husband and me, and my three sons Jordan, Devin, and Austin. These boys aren’t little anymore and sometimes it’s hard to appease them with fun things to do in historic cities.

On a side note,  did you know that traveling with kids can build up their confidence by helping them psychologically and also physically by giving them the tools to develop patience and express gratitude?

You can read more about this in this Forbes article.

THE BEST HOTEL IN SAVANNAH, GA HANDS DOWN!

Traveling to Savannah with Kids was not the first thing on my list to take the kids to. In fact, my husband and I were going to go alone but decided to make it into a family trip. Where we could learn some things ourselves and why not show the kids. The hotel that we stayed at was the historic Desto Hotel in downtown Savannah, GA.

If you like a quick room tour of the room read this post to see the inside scoop of The Desoto! —-> THE DESTO HOTEL SAVANNAH

Originally built in the late 1800s and then torn down to be rebuilt again in the late 1960s. The Hilton Desoto Savannah is one of the most lovely hotels in the city and is truly a gem. It has the updated elegance of modern hotels and the old-school charm of a boutique hotel in the city of Savannah, Ga.

In the room, we had two full queens and we bought one air – mattress and the boys took turns sleeping on each night. We could have invested in a suite, but we wanted to be right downtown and close to everything.

This is the self-inflating air mattress we used since it has a built-in plug to blow up and easily deflate. —> Click here to see this Twin Air Mattress.

The parking is not that great there, but they do have valet service and people to take your luggage upstairs for you. I just used my boys since I do have plenty of them. As you can see in the Tiktok video below my boys are taking up all the luggage.

Soon as we got there before we could even get settled in my husband and I decided to go up to the gym and get a quick workout in. The fitness room and pool area are on the second level of the DeSoto. Be sure to bring your key with you because you will need that to open the gym door and get back to your room.

We made the mistake of leaving our key in the gym and had to call for assistance to get it back. lol

THE BEST RESTAURANTS IN SAVANNAH, GA.

Once everyone was settled in we were able to go and grab some dinner at one of the best burger spots in Savannah, Ga called B & D's. I've had some great burgers in my life and this place did not disappoint! The burgers and everything were on point all the way around the board. The one we went to in Savannah is located right downtown and close to everything, in fact, we could walk there if we really wanted to.

B & D's restaurant in Savannah, Ga has a great night atmosphere and an outside area and upstairs bar where you can watch sports and they even put on shows for the kids and games.

Truly a gem in the heart of Savannah, Ga.

The next place we were able to eat in Savannah, Ga was a place called Fannies by the beach on Tybee Island. This place is located right on the beach and is about 30 minutes out from The Hotel Desoto. I'm glad we chose to stay at this hotel because it is central to pretty much everything all around Savannah, Ga.  This restaurant in Savannah had a good variety of things from oysters, to chicken quesadillas and some kid-friendly items.

I would not give them five stars, but they do have some decent beach food that is right by the water for easy access.

FUN THINGS TO DO ON TYBEE ISLAND!

One of the last stops we did on our full day in Savannah, Ga took a drive out to Tybee Island! The drive was not that long and it only took about 30 min. In fact, here's a map of Tybee island if you want to look at the area of the land.

Once we got to Tybee Island Savannah we walked around the pier and the boys were able to fish off the dock while we mingled with the locals.  Tybee island is full of great restaurants in the area along with a ton of Tybee Island Hotels and Tybee Island Ga resorts that you can stay at. In fact, they even have one of the best hotels on Tybee island called The Desoto.

We had a great time at Tybee Island in fact the beach was quite beautiful coming from a Florida girl, we know our beaches. I was greatly impressed.

We really enjoyed ourselves on our first full day in Savannah, Ga. In fact stay tuned for part two of our Savannah, Ga Trip!

In the meantime check out some of my favorite things I love to bring with me on Travel Trips with Kids.

THINGS TO BRING ON TRIPS!

Traveling can be fun and better traveling as a family can sometimes be demanding here are some of my favorite things to bring on trips.

For sure one thing I have to have is my Travel duffle bag when I'm traveling. These bags are great for traveling or even being used solely as a gym bag I love them!

Of course, as you know from up above we love to bring a self-inflating air mattress with us every time we travel.

Third I love to bring with me are cords that everyone can use for charging their phones and a cell phone charging station to take in the hotel that we can just plug into.

You can take a look at one of the best cell phone charging stations I like to use.

Our Visit To Coco Beach Resort In Florida

This post may contain affiliate links. Please see my Disclosure for more Info.

My family and I took a much needed quick getaway this weekend! Some of our best family beach resorts in Florida is to the The Resort on Coco Beach. Yes, and it was right on time too! with the amount of stress we have been going through.

If you have a large family like mine than you know how hard it is to travel with kids and finding family friendly hotels or family friendly resorts. It is really something you have to research and look into closely.

For one you want to make sure you will be getting enough bang for your buck,  in the amount of time that you are staying. While still having a little bit of spending money on other things. We love coming to the Resort on Coco Beach in Florida. I reiterate Florida since their is also one in south america. 😉

Just to make sure you don't get confused.

We have been here many times, mainly because how close it is to my home. About an hour depending on traffic. However, with city life comes a whole lot of traffic.  I almost thought we were not going to make it there since  the drive there  was a really bad. We got stuck in traffic with a car accident and we almost ran out of gas on the freeway.

The forecast for the weather this past weekend was all about the for-coming storms all week long. However that did not happen and we spent the whole beach weekend with lots and lots of sunniness.

Nothing was not going to stop our afternoon, we had a loads of fun!!

The one thing I love about going to family friendly beach resorts is that you will always find something for the kids to do and something for yourself. Like being able to have drinks by the pool at their  Tiki Bar.  The guy at the bar was okay with making our drinks, but the pina colada could use a little  improvement.

Well that's what the kids told me. Lol..

I love the rooms since they are pretty much condo's being rented out to families to use and stay as long as they want. With access to the beach, the full arcade room, and movie room and they even have live shows throughout the week . Such as a live animal show every Monday night featuring reptiles and other zoo creatures. This resort is really one the closets beach resorts in Florida that we love. Mainly when we want a quick getaway and more so for its laid back coco beach feel. If you want that laid back vibe than coco beach is a great beach for that.

The rooms in the resort are really spacious as you can see in the video below. The Rooms range from about 240.00 a night to 120.00 a night on the off season. But hey for all that you get  with a full gym, animal shows, private beach access no extra room charges and a lovely staff. What more could you ask for if the whole family is happy.

Most rooms are two bedrooms are more, with a full kitchen, stocked with dishes, pots, pans, etc… Full living room, master bath and shower. Kids room with tow twin beds, a second bathroom and Pull out couch. Tv's are in each room with full cable and Wi-Fi.

In fact you would save a lot more if you got the rooms and didn't eat out but cooked food in your rooms by shopping at the publix right next to resort.

Really, affordable and really fun, fun.

We love this place, look at my kids hustling to get inside. My little ducks following behind their mamma. 😉

I have a whole bunch of kids! Following their momma. #ilovemykids #quickgetaway #cocobeachflorida

Our Cheap Daytona Beach Resort Stay !

This post may contain affiliate links. Please see my Disclosure for more Info.

This past weekend the family and I got a chance to get away this weekend and spend some time with each other. Which was very much needed after coming off a very long week, and also being that it was the end of spring break for the kiddo's. To top it off we were not able to go anywhere during the week except  the backyard pool.  Which is given during the spring and summer time here at our house.

My family and I love to travel but since my husbands car accident this time last year money has been tight and really has us counting our pennies down to the last dollar, just to save a few.  However, that is a whole different topic all in it self.

I stay in Central Florida so its no surprise that the beach is not that far away for me to just pack up and head to the beach for a day and drive back home. However, it is much more fun we you can plan it out and drive up there and stay on the beach. Eat some dinner, take the kiddo's to breakfast and just lounge by the pool! Better yet when you can walk along the shore of the beach and do some natural Earthing(picking up all on those electromagnetic energy 😉 )

You can learn more about that by reading the book. 😉

We had a convention this weekend that we went to right in Daytona, Beach Fl so it was the perfect time to pack up and just stay the night. I had to find a hotel room at the last moment, however. Which is hard since it is still spring break for the next couple of weeks. This past weekend trying to find a room for a Saturday night stay was sooo hard.

To say the least……;-(

At the last moment when I was about to give up, while I was looking on Booking.com I was able to find a room. That would accommodate a family of 6. When you have a large family you need a suite with a kitchen, A pull-out bed at least double beds. We usually get two-room suites when staying more than three days somewhere.

But for times like this when you only want to stay a night or two, and in a pinch, anything will do.

We lucked out on Perrys Ocean Side Beach Resort in Daytona, Beach Florida.  Perry's Ocean Side Beach Resort was great! Very family friendly with a breakfast diner right next door with affordable prices. All though in the suite itself you will have a kitchen with a dinette set.

There is even a beach store and grocery store right across the street directly in front the resort. Perry's has two large clean pools, a Tiki Bar and even a kiddie pool! Plenty of patio furniture with grills located outside facing the beach for you to grill with your family.

We were a little nervous staying here at fist since it was last minute planning. However, I will say since it is so family friendly and spacious and I know that it will be a spot we will return to time and time again.

If you want to pack up and stay at a Daytona beach kid friendly Resorts , than Perry's is a spot you might want to look at in Daytona, Beach Fl.

Our total Stay was less than 230.00 for the night, which is not bad since everything was booked and it is Spring Break!

A Bed And Breakfast: We had a Beautiful Stay!

This post may contain affiliate links. Please see my Disclosure for more Info.

So this month is Family Reunion month so, this past weekend my husband and I took the kids to Folkston, Georgia to a family gathering my grandmother's family organized.  It was a one night overnight stay where I got to see many of my cousins and let my children meet some of their family members.  My Dad's moms family is from Georgia and I was not born there so ever since I was little my mom would take us up there each year so that we would get to know our family members.  I am so grateful that she did that, because I know too many people who parents either got divorced when they were younger and never got to continue to see both parts of their family.

Which is why to this day, I love to teach my kids about where both sides of their parents came from.  The only thing now is that now that I'm older I am taking my kids along with me this time and a husband.

So with that comes #hastaglittlekidproblems.

Where little kids fight , cry and  having four boys  that need their own space does not help either.  So I just chose not to stay at some one homes and but rather book a room at the Inn at Folkston.

bedandbreakfast

The Bed and Breakfast at the Inn of Folkston is a beautiful old world 19th century home, that has – I think about 7 bedrooms. Each room is decorated with its own train theme. The owner of the home is an retired couple who's husband is a second generation retired railroad conductor.  Soon as we got there we felt like we were right at home, I was little nervous at first because I have never stayed at a Bed and Breakfast Before. I'm pretty use to the huge luxury resorts suites that we tend to go too.

The Inn at Folkston helped to ease all those fears, my children loved the place.  The room was so huge and spacious at that. We had two full queen beds in our family room  which were so comfortable and clean! Along with a pull out bed and a large private bathroom. I thought that was pretty cool.

Maybe, that's just me because I thought we were going to have to share a bathroom or something.  Lol! 😉

Since we were only staying for one night, and leaving the next day.  The couple and their granddaughter served us breakfast the next morning and I felt like I was taken back in time to 19th century way of living.

Just a beautiful place and we had a great stay.

I know for sure now that when we do go back up there to visit family we will return back to the bed and Breakfast inn in  Folkson, heck I might even stay at more across the country.

Since we do tend to travel when we can.  😉

How about you, have you ever stayed at a Bed and Breakfast Before?
